The Columbus Bike Trailer

made by Hastrup & Co in Denmark since 1981

  Bike Trailer

A strong, lightweight cycle trailer for carrying loads
up to 100kg.
The frame is made from steel tubing.

Bike trailerThe cargo hold is made from a very durable UV-resistant flexible plastic that suspends from the frame.
Bike seat clamp

The trailer hitches to the bike with an
ingenious swivelling coupling.
The coupling attaches
to the bolt that clamps the seat
post in the seat tube, and can remain
permanently fixed to the bike.
The trailer can then be securely connected (and disconnected)
without tools in a couple of seconds.

Each trailer is supplied complete with one coupling. Extra couplings can
be bought for the added convenience of transferring the trailer between two or more bikes.

Payload:

The Columbus is designed to safely carry up to 100kg when used as a bike trailer.

However the rider needs to be aware of longer braking distances and different handling properties when carrying heavier loads (especially 50kg and above).

When used as a hand cart it’s possible to carry a lot more than 100kg, but if you want your trailer to last a lifetime it’s best not to overburden it.

We can testify to the resilience and utility of these trailers,

having worked two of them very hard for more than a decade.

Cost: £200.00

Delivery anywhere in the UK shouldn’t cost more than £20.00.

Extra couplings cost £12.00 each.
